Fashion is always important, and in many ways, can be inspired by things all around us. The inspiration for what we wear can come from nature, other people and even cities. One of the most influential cities for summer fashion trends this year, however, is Rome. Rome is a culturally rich city, filled with small, narrow streets and tons of history. If you are looking to switch up your fashion sense this summer, try rocking these looks, inspired by some of the most famous places for site seeing in Italy’s capital city.
Outfit for the Colosseum
If you are going to be visiting the Colosseum, you will want to obviously dress the part. One of the best outfits you can wear for a trip to the Colosseum consists of a white dress. The dress should be cut in a “V” both in the front and back. You will also want to have a pair of gladiator sandals to wear with it. Some gold bangle bracelets and hoop earrings are great for accessories. A cross body bag in a color, such as red, is also a great addition to complete the look.
Outfit for St. Peter’s Basilica
Next, if you are going to visit St. Peter’s Basilica, you will want to wear an outfit that is more casual and conservative. Keep in mind that when you are visiting the Basilica, you must have your knees and shoulders covered. You could wear a pair of black leggings or capris. You will want to pair the leggings or capris with a dusty rose colored blouse. A shimmery cardigan or blazer will go perfectly over your shirt. Flats in a metallic color are a great addition as well. Gold jewelry will also be great with this outfit.
Outfit for the Spanish Steps
If you plan to visit the Spanish Steps, you will need to have an outfit prepared for that as well. A coral colored high-waisted skirt will be perfect with a white Peter Pan styled blouse. You can wear a baby blue cardigan over the blouse. Black flats and a black satchel will complete the look, and a multi-colored scarf will tie it all together in a way that would make Audrey Hepburn proud!
And As Always, Clear Skin
Nothing will take away from your fashion statement faster than sunburned, blemished skin. Make sure that you wear the appropriate sun screen, even in the water. Wash your face at least twice a day using a moisturizing cleanser – never soap! And if you’ve never heard about microdermabrasion, you might want to look into it. It is a chemical free way to remove dead skin cells, open your pores and stimulate the production of collagen, giving your skin a healthy, youthful glow. Even Romans love flawless skin!
Even if you are not going to be visiting Rome this summer, you can easily rock these looks wherever you go. You can easily find these items in stores, such as Forever 21 or H&M for reasonable prices. Don’t be afraid to add your own touch to these outfits. They are all great for a day in the office or a night out on the town. Rome is a gorgeous city and it’s landmarks can easily inspire gorgeous outfits for you! Give these looks a try this summer and see for yourself just how great you can look!
