Guided excavations in Pompeii and Herculaneum

Every Friday until early October, the two archaeological sites of the Vesuvian will open its doors even after sunset to discover and admire at night the ruins and ancient artifacts.

From Friday 4 July and every Friday evening in July, August, September and early October, in the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum, you can take part in guided pathways designed ad hoc organized by the cultural heritage association (know in Italy as Beni Archeologici di Pompei).

In Pompeii, departing from Porta Marina, you can visit the suburban baths and participate in a process that will develop along the AvenueS outside the archaeological area that runs along the city wall, the Temple of Venus and the Imperial Villa, ending at the Auditorium di Piazza Esedra with highlighting an area that shows the main stages of the eruption which destroyed the city. The experts will illustrate to visitors the main aspects of life and society in Pompei (Spa and leisure, temples and religious architecture, trade and economic activities).
