Two weekends completely dedicated to the Heineken cup to define the rugby quarter-final clashes. Last weekend was the usual bad news for Italian teams, easy victory for Bath against Aironi and Treviso resisted only one half and then lost against the Catalan rugby team, Perpignan that claimed a five try victory and they reached the top of Pool 5 temporally (here you can find some photos of the match); in the same pool, the job was done for Leicester that won over Scarlets. The match cloud was definitely played in Toulon where the two-time European Cup champions Munster were dumped out of the competition as they succumbed 32-16 to the home team. In the other Pools, good news for Toulose, Northampton and Leinster that, thanks to their own victories, go through to the quarter final, while the other 4 places will be an open fight next weekend.
So let’s review the situation so far: Toulose, Toulon, Leinster, Northampton are safe but they still need to try and conquer precious points to play the quarter final match at home; who still have hopes of going through to the next round are: Perpignan that hosts the Scarlets, Biarritz that hosts Bath, Leicester that hosts Treviso, Ulster that plays away to Aironi, Scarlets at Perpignan, Wasps with Toulouse, Clermont will be away to Saracens and Bath also away to Biarritz.
Have a nice Heineken (beer) rugby weekend
